YzY-Spec is a tool for building a room — a mood board, a finishes schedule and a floor plan on one sheet — and printing the specbook your client signs. That is all it is. It is not a party to anything you and your client agree, it orders nothing from anybody, and it never signs a document in its own name: the specbook it prints carries your studio’s name and mark, not this product’s.

Opening an account means you accept what is on this page. If you do not, do not open one — and if you already have, the export below takes your work out with you.

Nothing today. YzY-Spec is in beta and free while it is. When that ends it will be $47.90 a month per studio, and you will be told before anything is ever charged. Nothing can be charged without you entering a card and agreeing to a subscription first: there is no card on file until you put one there, and the plan page inside your account is where you would see it if there were.

When billing does start it will be monthly, and stopping will mean exactly that: no further charge. If the price changes you will be told before the change applies, not after.

The projects, rooms, pieces, photographs, floor plans and client details you put in here belong to you. They are not sold, not shared between accounts, not published, and not used to train anything.

You can take all of it out at any time, without asking: the export in your account settings hands back every project, room, piece and schedule line as one file, with the addresses of the photographs the app is serving. That exists so the answer to “what happens to my projects if this disappears” is a button rather than a promise.

Deleting a project removes it from every screen and from the specbook. Say so if you want an account closed and everything in it gone.

The prices, codes, sizes and stock in a schedule come from the shop’s own page, not from us. The app never invents one: a value it cannot trace back to the source text is dropped and prints “Not provided”, because a schedule a contractor quotes from must not contain a number nobody published.

That is a reason to trust what the schedule says, not a guarantee the shop was right, still stocks it, or has not changed the price since. Confirm price, availability and lead time with the supplier before you order or quote. What you put in front of a client is yours.

Swatch colours are typed, never sampled from a photograph, for the same reason — a colour picked off a picture is a colour nobody published.

You are responsible for having the right to use the pictures you bring in — a shop’s product photograph in a client’s specbook is between you and that shop’s own terms. The app stores what you paste so it can draw and print it, and removes it when you delete the piece.

Change the app. It is in beta, it changes most days, and something you are relying on may move — which is the honest reason to take the export now and then rather than at the end.

Close an account that is being used to break the law or somebody else’s rights. Otherwise, an account stays open.

Stop running YzY-Spec. If that ever happens you will be told before it does, with time to export, not after the door has shut.

Two things on this page are deliberately blank rather than filled in with something that is not true yet: the registered name of whoever operates YzY-Spec, and which country’s law governs a disagreement about it. Both go here the day they are decided. Until then, this is run by one person, and the address to write to is below.
