From the shop’s own page, and nowhere else. You paste a link or the page itself, and the fields that come back are the ones the supplier published — the price, the code, the finish, the lead time.

What the shop did not publish reads Not provided. The app never fills a gap with something plausible, because the schedule is a document a contractor quotes from, and a number nobody published is worse than an empty line. The same rule governs swatch colours: they are typed, never sampled off a photograph, since a colour picked from a picture is a colour nobody stated.

That is a reason to trust what the schedule says, not a guarantee the shop was right. Confirm price and availability with the supplier before you order.

Yours. The cover, the title block on every sheet and the closing page carry your studio’s name, mark and contact details. YzY-Spec does not sign it, watermark it, or appear on it anywhere — the client who receives that document sees their designer’s brand and no one else’s.

You keep everything you can read. Every project, room, board and schedule stays open, and the specbook you printed for a client two years ago still opens. Locking a designer out of their own work to collect a subscription is how a tool teaches a studio not to trust it with a job.

What stops is writing: adding a piece, reading a new link, cutting out a photograph, rendering a new specbook. Those are the actions that cost real money to run, and they start again the moment the subscription does.

Whenever you like, without asking anyone. In your account, under Security, Download everything hands back one file with every project, room, piece and schedule line, and the addresses of the photographs.

It exists so that the answer to “what happens to my projects if this disappears?” is a button rather than a promise.

The text of that page is sent to Anthropic’s API, which reads it and returns the fields. When the app reads what is printed on a photograph, the image goes too. That is the one point where anything leaves our own servers.

What is sent is the shop’s page — not the client’s name, not the room, not your studio, not your other projects. The privacy policy says it in full.

Partly, and it is worth knowing which part. Building the board is desk work: you are arranging photographs at the size they will print, and that wants a big screen.

Finding pieces is not. Share a shop’s page from your phone and it lands in your library with the shop attached, ready to be pulled onto a board later — see the clip button. That is the half a designer does in bed or on a train.

Any of them. Where a shop publishes its product details in a form machines read — most large retailers do — a pasted link is enough. Where a shop blocks that, you copy the page itself and paste it; the result is the same because the reading happens on the text either way.
